CarePods Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
What CarePods Is
CarePods is an optional feature, available only where an administrator has turned it on, for coordinating care around a specific person or family situation in a smaller, invite-only circle. It's built for things like sharing health updates, posting help requests (a ride to an appointment, a meal drop-off), and tracking a shared calendar among the caregivers, family, and friends involved.
Not for Emergencies
CarePods is not a monitored service and is not designed for emergencies. Help requests and other posts inside a CarePod are not guaranteed to be seen or responded to within any particular time, or at all. If you or someone you're caring for needs immediate help, call 911 or your local emergency number — do not rely on a CarePod post.
Not Medical Advice or Care
As with the rest of SmarterHealthAI (see our Terms and Conditions of Use), nothing shared inside a CarePod — including health updates posted by other members — is medical advice, and using CarePods does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Always consult a qualified physician about a care recipient's actual medical needs.
Sharing Another Person's Information
CarePods is often used to coordinate care for someone — a parent, spouse, or other family member — who may not be the person setting up or posting in the CarePod. If you create a CarePod, add a care recipient's profile, or post health information about someone else, you're responsible for having the appropriate authority or permission to share that person's information with the other members you invite. SmarterHealthAI does not verify that this authority or permission exists, and is not responsible for a member's decision to share another person's information without it.
Accuracy of Shared Information
Health updates, calendar entries, and help requests posted inside a CarePod are created by its members, not by SmarterHealthAI. We don't review, verify, or vouch for the accuracy of anything posted inside a CarePod.
Who Has Access
A CarePod's owner and admins control who is invited and what role each member holds. SmarterHealthAI relies on them to manage membership responsibly, and isn't responsible for a member's choice of who to invite, or for information a member saw or acted on while they legitimately had access, even if they're later removed.
Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
By creating, joining, or using a CarePod, you understand and agree that SmarterHealthAI is a tool for organizing communication between people who already know and trust each other — it does not manage, supervise, or guarantee the care being coordinated. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release SmarterHealthAI from liability for any harm arising from care coordination that happens through CarePods, including a missed or unanswered help request, inaccurate or outdated health information shared by another member, or the acts or omissions of any CarePod member, including yourself.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SmarterHealthAI harmless from any claim arising out of your use of CarePods, including a claim brought by someone whose information was shared in a CarePod without their permission.
Feature Availability
CarePods is enabled at an administrator's discretion and may be turned off, changed, or discontinued at any time.
