About

I'm Robert Mollner, a vascular surgeon at McLaren Flint. Perfor arterial disease or PAD is a vascular condition which leads to narrowing or blockages of the artery. If these blockages become severe it can lead to significant disability. Symptoms such as pain when walking short distances, poor wound healing, stroke or even limb loss can occur. PAD is much more common than you would think. In fact, in a recent screening that we have conducted nearly 50% of people age 50 years of age or older had some form of PAD. So you have to ask the question, do I or someone I love have PAD? As experts in vascular care, our vascular surgeons can first identify PAD and then we can tailor make the individual treatment plan that's right for you. Treatment plans can include medical management or minimally invasive therapies. The minimally invasive therapies are often outpatient therapies in which patients walk in and walk out the same day with their condition treated. We also have the capacity to combine standard surgical procedures with these minimally invasive techniques and allow our patients shorter recovery times and a quicker return to normal activity. As you can see by the equipment surrounding me, this state -of -the -art imaging is a commitment that has been made to provide these latest technologies to our patients. This can allow us to provide compassionate individualized care. Our surgeons have been at the forefront of this cutting -edge technology. In fact, we have been chosen to participate in many national clinical trials which have led to the implementation and FDA approval of the minimally invasive devices that we use today. For more information, we have posted a link to McLaren .org on our website, abc12 .com. Well now to a new study about a potential health benefit surrounding tomatoes and tomato products.
